At iso 1600, noise grain gets worse under the desk and lends a gritty quality to, for example, the window frame. I up the Intensity to 6 and lowered sharpening to 3 for this shot. Essentially the noise was removed and their was only a barely noticeable hit to sharpness. This could easily be put into a preset in CaptureNX2 for base application to all Hi-1 D1x photos. Or the same in Photoshop.
