Hockanum was a small settlement on the banks of the Connecticut River, established back when the Connecticut River Valley was a raging battleground of Settler-Indian wars. Located between the city of Northampton and the Town of South Hadley here in Western Mass, it is today mostly noted for its ancient graveyard set along the side of Rt 47 on the South Hadley/Hadley border. However, it also has a one-room schoolhouse that I thought worthy of a picture or two.
