Chemla-Lamèch named some craters after notable people he knew.
One particular crater was named "Darney", after Maurice Darney.
In 1935 the IAU (International Astronomical Union) accepted this designation as No. 2831. Current ID: 1415.
Maurice Darney (1882-1958) was a French astronomer and selenographer.

Another crater was named "Pierot", after Arthur Pierot (notice the miswriting as "Pierrot").
However, in 1935 the IAU (International Astronomical Union) didn't accept this designation; it was designated 2832 "Darney C". Current ID: 8594 (2006).
Arthur Pierot (1867-1938) was a Belgian astronomer, selenographer and educator.
