Chemla-Lamèch named some craters after notable people he knew from France.
This particular crater was named "Moreux", after Abbé Theophile Moreux.
However, in 1935 the IAU (International Astronomical Union) didn't accept this designation; it was designated 1500 "Gambart C". Current ID: 9319 (2006).
Théophile Moreux (1867-1954) was a French astronomer and meteorologist.
The other crater was named "Turner", after Herbert Hall Turner.
In 1935 the IAU (International Astronomical Union) accepted this designation as no. 2922. Current ID: 6144.
Herbert Hall Turner (1861-1930) was an English astronomer and seismologist.
