Joop's Dog Log - Monday Mar 22

Just west of my town we have this open land.
I often see deer there, and rabbits and rats and mice.
Always chase them, never catch them.
Some of it is wetland, most of it is pasture. Our village humans keep their horses here.
Looks like horses are the animals to keep. There’s a lot of selling and trading.
Do humans really love their horses, I sometimes wonder…?
This black horse is the new kid on the block. He’s proud, doesn’t come up to talk to me yet.
So I pretend I’m not interested either. That’s hard, `cause I like horses.
It’s a game we have to play I guess…
Have a good week everybody!

Beautiful Joop. I always enjoy the shots of you with horses... perhaps they bring out your better nature? It looks as though the warm weather has begun there. Nice for those walks, hmmm?

I also enjoy the images you show with horses. You seem to go so well with them. People here and in Kentucky love their horses. My mom has a friend who is a jockey and she helps find homes for horses after they can no longer race. Sometimes the barns in Kentucky (about 15 minutes from where I live) are very nice, bigger and brighter then the human houses! I hope they are loved as much as they seem to be here.
Hang tight, buddy, I bet that ol` black horse will warm up to you soon! Max

Moin Joop, we late on this Monday, but the whole company was unpacking delivery valves that have to be delivered today in order to ship them by airfreight to Africa. So we had a little "Dutch feeling" in the stock this morning, as our boss picked them up at Amsterdam Airport yesterday and obviously brought your rain to us....regarding the horses we would prefer to have them instead of cows, but the farmers won`t like us to chase them either: they have very fragile legs.....

Don`t worry, Joop, the new horse probably needs to get used to everything in his new surroundings. Maybe a carrot from a human would help him adjust. (wish you could visit our beach and tell us what you think of all the activities!}

I swear Fotolog likes you best, Joop. Your images pop up when other f`logs are just showing those darn red "x"es. Horses ... funny thing. I`m getting ready to jump into having a horse in the next year or so, on a waiting list for stall space in nearby, etc. People who love horses can also be very pragmatic about them, selling them when they no longer "fit" and who knows where the animals will end up. That makes a horse not quite a pet, to most people. A different mindset, I guess! You will charm that black horse, and soon. You are, after all, a "farmer`s fox"!

Hey, Joop, the horses!!! Oh, boy I love to see you with the horses. I remember those horses with the very, very big necks. Do these have those big necks... I can`t tell from here. I`m sure the black one will be your friend very soon...who could resist you.
Looks like you are on the trail of something there. Did you sort of catch it?

Lovely photo, Joop. I bet you and Black Horse will be friends soon. What`s cookin` in New Orleans today... red beans and rice! It`s an old tradition to make red beans and rice on Mondays. :-)

Hi Joopie! It looks pretty spring like over there today.... I lost most of my coat over october/november as a result of some anesthesias I had last summer. So now it is finally growing back, but I`m not sure if it will fall out again now that it is spring... not yet anyways, mom is keeping her fingers crossed.

Joop, you`ll win that black horse over in no time. That sounds like a great place there, with all the animals to chase. I wish I could visit you there and chase some animals with you. Today on our walk we saw (as in, I chased) a deer, a fox, and a couple of ducks. My photographer human said I make them run too fast for her to get any good pictures -- I say it`s not about the pictures, it`s about the chase!
