Joop's Dog Log - Sunday Mar 21

We had a storm.
A big one. The roof of our house moaned and groaned in the wind.
My bed is right under it so I didn`t get much sleep.
I listened to the strange sounds all night long.
Thought I heard the garbage container in our backyard get blown over.
Scratched my humans` bedroom door but they told me to lie down and be quiet.
They sounded sleepy. But they didn`t make any sense.
Why should I be quiet when the wind was howling?
Anyway, the storm finally got tired.

We just got back from our morning walk.
Checked all our favorite trees. They were still standing.
This one too. In fact it`s not really one tree, it`s three trees grown together.
Like me and my humans.
Great place for running and leaping!

Such trees grown in harmony and synergy build fascinating places, more rarely what you say how spectacular it may be that living souls reach a similar state

watch out! it`s kung-fu joop! almost a "matrix" moment ; )
that trio (tree-o? oh, that`s too terrible to post, isn`t it? nah ..) is remarkable for the apparent symmetry as well - i`ve seen similar groups of trees but one usually dominates. it just adds resonance to your envious claim of metaphor with your family. i particularly like the implication of the intertwined roots and the poetic possibilities therein. you really are a philospher and gentledog, joop : )

Wat kan jij hoog springen Joop. Je hebt zeker even gekeken wat er al zo in die spleet van die boom zat. Fijne zondag nog.

Joop, you look as if you`re doing a swimmer`s turn! When I was small, there was a tree in our neighborhood that had a "secret" hiding place, and we would put things there to be "safe." When I grew older, it reminded me of the tree in "To Kill a Mockingbird."
Today it seems to me that for a dog, even when the "thing" is gone it`s still there, because of your incredible sense of smell. You can read messages even when humans see nothing!

I agree it looks like a swimmer`s turn!! You sure must have some bounce in those paws Joop! No storm here, but a bit more snow, spring is very slow about appearing, but when she finally arrives it will be with a vengeance.

"Yes, Joop... I find the world a strange place too. The sea roars, the wind howls, sometimes the sky cries... And then there´s the moon, like you mentioned. Do you think humans make wars because of the moon too? :(" Flô

I know, Joop, those storms can get pretty scary. I`m sure if there were really any danger your humans would have come and protected you...and I`m sure you know that, too.
Interesting tree...and interesting analogy you make about it. You must love your humans a lot. And I bet they love you just as much.

Joop, what an athletic move there! I`m glad you and your humans and your trees made it through the storm o.k. It must have been scary! But I`m glad you`ve had a beautiful day today.

Hello Joop, we got a heavy storm too starting yesterday.....he has decided finally which weather he will chase around our house...heard the sound of the fire brigade this morning...maybe some of the old poplars along the chanel way broke down..will check and see on our family-walk (as soon as boss has finished with his TV-watching formular 1 race)

Maybe we can find a quadruple-tree......have a nice Sunday and don't be sad about the passin away of oldie queen...we do not have a queen at all, only socalled soecial-democratic chancellor dressed in Armani. What profession has the hair stylist of your Dutch Mr. B.?????
