Joop's Dog Log - Monday Feb 23

Good morning everybody.
Humans can act so strange. They do things a dog like myself find hard to understand.
Take this Ralph Nader human in the USA.
He has a good reputation and he has done important things for consumer-humans.
But now he seems to have lost his brain power. Four years ago he ran for president,
took away votes from Al Gore, and helped GWB into the White House.
Now he wants to pull the same stunt on John Kerry. That is plain stupid,
I can see it no other way, unless Nader and GWB are secret friends.
And how about that gouvernator-human Schwarzenegger,
who now spends his time fighting same-sex marriages in San Francisco,
instead of rebuilding the Californian economy, like he had promised.
What is so evil and urgent about gay people getting married?
In my country same-sex-marriages have been legal for years
and it hasn`t brought us anything but love and understanding.
I say: get real, humans! And have a good week.

Wow, Joop! Your comments make me want to move over there. Day after day I feel like we're going down the drain here in the US. I'm very politically active, but after the election in 2000 and the back room deals by the likes of VP Cheney (his hunting trip with the major force behind the dimwit Bush getting selected, Antonin Scalia) and Scalia delcaring himself above critical observation...I'm worried that more people are starting to think like I do (half of the US population eligible to vote don't participate) and now Nader wants to do his magic again. I see by an earlier observation, Joop, that your country is also suffering from intolerance. I'm sorry to know that. Keep up the good words. I sure enjoy reading your log.

Hi, Joop! You look handsome again today!
And yes, I like Nadar very much but there is no way I am voting for him this time around.
And I didn`t know about Schwargenegger, but somehow it doesn`t surprise me. He should NEVER have become governor. Especially of California.

Thanks for your kind words about Seattle. It is one of my favorite cities of North America, as well (politically, geographically, and culturally). If you ever visit your relatives here, I don`t live too far away from them, so you and your human are always welcome! ;-) I could walk you around Greenlake!!! :-) :-)

Good morning Joop!
It is very interesting what you said there. You have to know, we have no TV and no radio here because we were tired to consume advertising and silly talk. So you are our source of information, Joop :)
So I postulate again: Dogs into the parliament!
They are clever, justly, incorruptibly (maybe some cookies? :) and so on (I could tell all the good qualities of the world here).
Have a nice week, Joop.

Moin Joop, very serious topic this Monday...1st of all please let me say that you look so good today, black laquered nose- clean and wet, beard styled and brushed and bright attentive eyes like ebony....this election circus is always a pain in my ears and and brain. The years before I had big problems to listen to TV-news and reports concerning this till the end cause I couldn`t even stand to see the face and hear the voice of GWB....but I really doubt that there will we a adical change in US policy with any other president, cause
" the politicians changed, but the generals stay"....

"I totally agree with you about this Ralph Nader, Joop. He and GWB must be close friend$...
And about Schwarzenegger being so fussy about gay marriages... I guess that drives away attention from more serious and urgent matters like what they´re doing in Iraq :(" Magali

So are so right, Joop, and such a smart dog. The religious loonies who hate and fear gay people say that if gay marriages are OK, people will marry dogs next. They were at the State Capitol here in Sacramento waving signs "Marriages For Dogs!" to make their "point." It would be funny, if their hatred and fear weren`t so scary.
But ... marriage for dogs? Hmmmm. You`d have so many Dog Misses competing for you. That might be fun!
As for Nader, he says there is no difference between the two parties here. I don`t know how anyone who has paid attention since the Busies stole the election in 2000 could think that way.
There`s a saying in the U.S. about "yellow dog" Democrats -- people who would vote for the Democrat even if he were a yellow dog. Heather says we are "black dog Democrats" -- we will vote for the Democratic nominee because we need to get Bush out!

Joop, it is too bad that dogs can`t be president. You are a very thoughtful dog. Hopefully, the humans that made the `vote for Nader` mistake will have learned from it. Or that Nader fellow will get a little dog sense and cut it out.

Hi Joop, you handsome rascal!
We were the first place in north america to have gay marriages, but that was only last year. Nice to have it spread around a bit, although it was good for tourism...

Well, not much left to say. I agree with every single thing your human said this morning, Joop. He must be pretty smart. Haaa haaa haaaa. It is kind of a depressing time in the USA...the only thing your human missed was how much bush as divided this country and put us one against another...like never before. Even Clinton, when he was at his worst, was not hated like bush is hated or, and this is hard for me to understand, loved!!! There is a lot of tension everywhere. bush is a deceiver...and when his campaign ads start and he start spewing garbage and lies...I think we are going to see some fireworks here.
The Netherlands sound like a very peaceful place right now...actually anywhere does except the USA. I love my country, but I do not like what is happening to it and in it.
Enjoy your beautiful country, Joop. Sounds a lot more sane than mine right now.

Hello Joop! How are you doing?
Thanks a lot for the nice comment in my fotolog... You are a gentleman!
Now, reading the message you posted in your picture today, I can see that you are not just a cute and charming boy... you are a smart lovely boy, Joop! :)
Sorry by the inconvenience when you were trying to post in my fotolog... I am not a gold cam and then space sometimes is a problem... Do you have MSN Messenger? Or do you think your human Henk has? I would love talking to you and Henk by MSN...
Love, Elaine

Joop, I agree! I was astounded to read that Nadar was running AGAIN after the effect it had last time. What is he thinking? And Arnold -- ugh, don`t get me started. I like how the marriage or lack of marriage situation is in your country. Much less sexist and genderist and all that.
Well, you look beautiful in this photo. Yes, it is Lundi Gras and tomorrow is Mardi Gras. I`ll take pictures of the madness.
Hugs!

Nader gave a long interview today on Democracy Now! and he made some good points. But I think he`s the ONLY person who likes the idea of his running for prez again.
You can hear his interview with Amy Goodman by pulling up www.democracynow.com, it`s a very cool hard-left program.

Joop, we North Americans are odd, at best. My moms have been "married" for over 10 years, though they have to jump through many legal hoops to have the same rights as married folks. I don`t know what that Ralph Nader thinks about, either. My moms certainly had lots of words about it. Maybe he will get less support as an Independent then he did in the Green party. Who knows. We really do need to get "real". I know that we love you Joop! You are very handsome here, too.
