Update

Several people have asked about Sahraa’s progress since I reported that she was suffering from cognitive decline three weeks ago. The prescribed medication didn’t seem to have any noticeable effect, and in fact she stopped eating a week ago tomorrow (Thursday). Our vet did blood work on Saturday and on Monday told us the results weren’t good but also weren’t conclusive, so he recommended we take her to an emergency vet for an ultrasound. After spending all Tuesday afternoon (literally) at an ER practice that performed a lot of tests and took X-rays but couldn’t do a full-scale ultrasound (and also couldn't determine why she wasn't eating), we were told to take her to another vet for an ultrasound and hospitalization to rehydrate her and to have her seen by their internist, where she is now. This was taken in the waiting room of the ER vet, where she was actually pretty perky but obviously wanted to get out of there and go home to some peace and quiet. We’re hoping for the best, but at this point I’m not expecting any good news.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

You did everything you could for Sahraa and then some. You know how much a family loves their dog when they make that final difficult decision for them. I am typing this while the tears are running down my face. Having known Sahraa and having gone through this just recently I understand how you are feeling. I am glad you have this gallery of her life as I know you will go back and review it many times. Yes you will probably cry again but you will also remember all the wonderful and happy times too. See you on the other side Sahraa.

I just read the final post for Sahraa and am now reading this. You did all you could for her and much, much more and she was such a well-loved dog. You will miss her so much, and we will miss hearing about her and seeing her. It is such a sad time.

Sahraa does look anxious to be elsewhere, as we all are in such circumstances. Hoping she finds some rest and recovery.

I'm so sad to hear such news.
I really hope a good issue even if, considering what you said, it is difficult to be optimistic.
