Peony replacement

We have had a peony in this spot for at least 20 years, but it stopped blooming this summer because a fence we installed last year now blocks all afternoon sun. So we replanted it in a huge pot and filled in the hole with topsoil, which Sahraa promptly dug out and took over the spot for her own.

She had been looking at me when I came out of the carport, but of course when she saw my iPhone, which I had pulled out surreptitiously with the sound off, she turned away.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Flawless day at Constitution Gardens, posted earlier:

Sahraa is a self-possessed canine and looks both determined and content here. Great shot!

I really enjoy your images of Sahraa and this is another wonderful image of contentment, happiness captured with love. A really beautiful dog that lights up any environment and location. A nicely composed capture that anyone who has a dog can relate to. V+

I'm sure the peony was lovely but how could it be more beautiful than this! Sahraa looks so comfortable and cute there. V

She looks quite blissful in her new spot! Perhaps she thought you created it just for her. V

She does have a slight smile. Definitely in a dog’s happy place.

Good for her to claim her territory. Love that casual, detached look.
