'Do you mind?? I'd like to eat!'

Sahraa has always insisted on privacy when she eats, for the 10 years she’s been part of our family. She actually watches and waits until I’m out of sight before she deigns to start eating. I can go into the dining room (where I was when I took this) and look back at her, and she’s watching. I can walk on into the living room, and she’s still watching until I sit down and am not in her line of vision. I’ve always wanted to get a picture of this ritual, and I finally did. She was so intent on getting rid of me, she didn’t even protest.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Media, mourners, memorials for Ruth Bader Ginsberg, posted earlier:

I love all of Sahraa's quirks as documented by you. They make her even more adorable... this is so funny, but perhaps it is something to do with her hard life before she came to you when food had to be protected? Nonetheless, what a great photo this is. V

Are those all cook books? If so I'm coming to eat at your place. ;o)

Great photo of Sahraa asserting her rights. My dog Max had similar views, but rather than waiting for the human to leave Max would pick up his bowl and go to another room. Also I had to feed Max and Becky in separate rooms or else Max would try to eat his meal in one bite. Kailey, on the other hand, doesn't mind an audience.
