Grand Canyon Depot, Arizona (1910); Santa Fe Depot, Shawnee, Oklahoma (1903)

Grand Canyon Depot is the oldest wooden depot and the only train station in a US National Park. Still in use as the northern terminus of the Grand Canyon Railway, in years past it was used to transport ranchers, livestock, water and all the supplies to build Grand Canyon Village.

The Santa Fe Depot assisted passengers until 1973 and today houses the Pottawatomie County Historical Society Museum.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

*****

We went to the United States Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings exhibit titled “All Aboard,” which showcases historic train stations from around the country made almost entirely from plant materials.
