Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (1859)

This station was the point of arrival and departure of President Abraham Lincoln when he gave his historic Gettysburg Address as well as a field hospital during the American Civil War. It hosts a free museum today featuring exhibits highlighting the area’s history.

Building materials include coneflower seed head, acorn cap, acorns, arborvitae cones, bamboo and birch bark in the cupola.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

*****

We went to the United States Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings exhibit titled “All Aboard,” which showcases historic train stations from around the country made almost entirely from plant materials.
