Recreation pier, District Wharf

We finally visited the District Wharf, a new development on the Anacostia River. It’s mainly restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as a place to just hang out on the water, but a welcome change from the derelict area that used to exist here. There are plans to expand it even further into a major attraction for tourists and residents alike.

This was called the recreation pier (or something like that), at the end of which was the bonfire shown in a previous picture.
