View from the Capitol columns

We took a quick trip out to the National Arboretum during Thanksgiving week to see if there were any fall colors there since we haven’t had much in our neighborhood. We didn’t find a whole lot, but it was pleasant walking around the near empty grounds on a crisp autumn afternoon.

Looking toward the azalea gardens, which I had photographed this spring, from the old US Capitol columns. The last time we were here, it was packed with visitors.

What a pretty view. I like the shadows of the columns and the wonderful fall colors.

I find gardens are often bland at this time of year after autumn. But still good to be in the fresh air.
