Resting

I don’t know what kind of butterfly this is (although I’m sure others do!), but I caught it relaxing on this pretty stem.

NOTE: Thanks to those of you who identified this as a swallowtail. I knew you'd know!

So elegantly captured. I love how nicely the butterfly and the plant it is on stand out so well from that perfect background which I imagine is the cement on your walkway or something similar. That dramatic lighting is to die for. ~BV~
