In defense of freedom of the press

The Newseum is an interactive museum that promotes free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment to the US Constitution. We were going to revisit it recently but discovered the admission is now $25 per person, unheard of in a city where most museums are free. I suppose we will go at some point, but for now I’m happy to see it from the outside.

I thought the current exhibit on First Amendment freedoms was quite appropriate for this difficult time in the US.

25 bucks is expensive but worthwhile if it encourages free speech. A well captured scene. V

Typical Washington - spend tax dollars to build it and then price it out of the range of many families so they can't visit it.

Lovely shot from the outside. I agree, quite pricey.

apparently these freedoms come at a stiff cost...the press, or more broadly the media in general, seems under assault these days from those who do not like what they hear about themselves...

$25 is not a lot where essential freedoms are concerned. What is the FBI sign there, an exhibit

That is a little rich. Nice shot.

I agree with you, 25$ to visit a museum is quite expensive
