Saturday, March 11, was the day of the United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, run entirely in the District of Columbia and expected to draw 24,000 participants. I had seen signs for it several weeks ago but had forgotten about it until people in the park, when I was walking Sahraa that morning, said to be prepared to not be able to get in or out of our neighborhood that day due to the runners, police and blocked streets. So I went back to the house, stole away from work, and got a couple of pictures of the contestants.
Some of the runners in the same place where I photographed the Women’s March on Washington, at Lincoln Park.
