I slipped away from work for a few hours on Thursday to revisit this exhibit since I realized I had missed a lot of displays. What a difference a weekday afternoon makes! There were no crowds until I was leaving, and I was able to walk right in rather than waiting in the cold for an hour. It seemed lighter in the gallery, yet still, pretty dark for pictures, and I found that the exhibits I didn’t photograph before were the more challenging or hard to access ones. I’ll be posting a number of new pictures, the majority of them fairly quickly.
This is a snow plow train that runs around the mine scene pictured below. I tried and tried (and tried) to get a decent picture, without much success, to the point that one of the monitors came over to see what I was doing ;-). I realized later that I didn’t have a clue how to photograph something moving quickly towards me. I’m tempted to go back again to try to get it right, but for now, this will have to do. It was just too cute not to include.
