This really should have gone with my early voting picture, but I got caught up with Halloween instead. There is an initiative on the DC ballot to make the District of Columbia the 51st state of the union. At present, we have no representation in the US Congress and can truly claim “Taxation without Representation,” which our license plates say. It will never happen regardless of the vote because Congress will never give up its fiefdom rule over the District.
