This was my mother-in-law’s new used car, and I thought the way they did it up for her was pretty cute. We had gone to several car dealers during the day, and although I wasn’t the one buying a car, one dealer really turned me off when they sent in the very friendly but hard-sell guy to take over. (I didn’t like the cars, either, KIA, and when they jacked up the registration fee to $500 for like a $65 transaction, that was it.) Then there was some Ford dealer who I thought was over the top with his desperate, cheaper and cheaper deals, and then a Chevy salesman who had been on the job one day and knew absolutely nothing but told us a lot about himself. Finally, we went to CarMax, and it was an almost painless experience: They had a lot to choose from, the salesman really knew his stuff and they were incredibly efficient. We had to wait overnight for a previous offer on the car to expire, but the salesman kept on it, and we left with this car. And how luxurious it is, especially compared to her old car!
