A nice touch

This was my mother-in-law’s new used car, and I thought the way they did it up for her was pretty cute. We had gone to several car dealers during the day, and although I wasn’t the one buying a car, one dealer really turned me off when they sent in the very friendly but hard-sell guy to take over. (I didn’t like the cars, either, KIA, and when they jacked up the registration fee to $500 for like a $65 transaction, that was it.) Then there was some Ford dealer who I thought was over the top with his desperate, cheaper and cheaper deals, and then a Chevy salesman who had been on the job one day and knew absolutely nothing but told us a lot about himself. Finally, we went to CarMax, and it was an almost painless experience: They had a lot to choose from, the salesman really knew his stuff and they were incredibly efficient. We had to wait overnight for a previous offer on the car to expire, but the salesman kept on it, and we left with this car. And how luxurious it is, especially compared to her old car!

That is a very sweet ride! I would also look good in that! LOL

It always amazes me that an industry that relies on selling to consumers has such a bad and generally useless group of salespeople. They all seem to imagine they are the smartest brain around.

Nice looking car. I absolutely HATE dealing with car salesmen and they hate me because I'm a big bitch when negotiating. I've heard favorable reviews of CarMax from some friends. Too bad all the cars are used. I hope your MIL gets a lot of enjoyment from this new vehicle. It looks sharp. Like the bow. :)

That's a nice car, really! V

I'd be happy to drive away with this one - especially with a decent salesman taking care of the deal :)

Shopping for a car is about as fun as a root canal. It sounds like Carmax might be the way to go however. It is very sweet how they wrapped the car. V

That is a whole different experience from the usual run of car-buying (much as you described in your other encounters, and no fun at all). Very nice!

You made a fine choice, regardless of the garage or salesperson. Ford will give you quality ... a great car

The perils of buying a car, sounds like you found the right place in the end.

Nicely wrapped. Buying a car i Europe is different. For a new car you can wait from 3 weeks to 4 months.
