Traditional watchtower evolution (2)

A series of three images documenting the evolution of traditional watchtowers here. This newer-looking one was located on the edge of a luxury housing development full of huge mansions. I tried but wasn’t able to get any of the houses in view with the tower.

Very old tower, posted earlier:

Great POV to show how difficult it must have been to enter this watchtower by these stepstones.

a marvellously self-explanatory structure; that is if it was a watch tower. Very slightly reminiscent of the Scottish Broch, but they are far from simple http://www.pbase.com/crisscross/broch )
