'Rules' of the road

Just some miscellaneous scenes around Riyadh that I found interesting or amusing or simply unusual.

This was a constant sight on this road, people driving on the shoulder, all the way out to the airport. I’m glad I can’t drive here because quite frankly, I think the drivers are terrible. I have never seen so many people not pay any attention to what’s going on around them, like they’ll just change lanes without looking (or caring) if another car is in their way, turn left in front of you from an outside lane just as you start to go through a green light, back up on freeways, stop to chat on entrances to highways, drive down the lines of roads, blocking two lanes, you name it. I’m amazed we haven’t had an accident in the 2.5 years we have been living here.

Wow! It looks scary. Probably distracted drivers.

They need rumble strips on the road. It makes you pay attention fast. I am with you, it would drive me crazy too.

Fascinating driving skills, although I've seen that left turn from the outside lane when traffic is moving right here in California and frequently!

looks the highway is too narrow for someone (LOL)...v.

sounds crazy...can't blame the white car for staying well off to the side amid the reckless driving..
