Monkey quest: Contrasts

We took a day trip with a group of friends out to this area, which I think was east of Riyadh, to see monkeys, probably baboons, which somebody had seen there before in large numbers. Unfortunately we didn’t encounter any wildlife, but had a nice time visiting and driving around in search of the elusive critters.

A view from the escarpment to the desert terrain beyond.

These desert scenes reminds me a lot of the deserts in Egypt and Libya. I like deserts a lot. They are barren, but you learn to see the smallest vegetation or patterns in erosion and lines.
