Wadi Hanifa: Overlook

We drove quite a ways into Wadi Hanifa, which is 120 kilometers long and runs through the city of Riyadh. There were some large properties with houses in the beginning, but the further we went, the sparser civilization got, although there seemed to be a lot construction going on in the middle of nowhere.

I can’t even imagine who would want to live way up there overlooking the wadi, but seemed to be new residential construction.

Sorry but something seems to be really wrong with Pbase this evening -- using two servers, two browsers, WiFi and fiber optic, so I will have to forego commenting for now. I also can't send any PMail messages. I am getting so very tired of this.

Unexpected residents in the wadi, posted earlier:

Not a great place for a housing development, on a crumbling cliff !!!!

A splendid image to show how you can take risks building this way. If something should happen with that not looking stabil underground you can start rebuilding.

I like Jim's comment - makes you wonder even more. Great shot Helen.

The way that hillside is giving way would make me think twice about building there!
That erosion is pretty bad!

Looks spectacular from this point, but an unusual place for so many new constructions.V.
