Wadi Hanifa: Under construction (1)

We drove quite a ways into Wadi Hanifa, which is 120 kilometers long and runs through the city of Riyadh. There were some large properties with houses in the beginning, but the further we went, the sparser civilization got, although there seemed to be a lot construction going on in the middle of nowhere.

Although there were no buildings for miles around, suddenly we came across a long wall with several gates in it and nothing we could see behind them. There did appear to be construction at the site, but it’s hard to imagine who would want to live way out there. Maybe it was some kind of commercial enterprise in the making.

A monumental gate in the more populated part of the wadi, posted earlier:

Interesting to see the shabby wall with the ornate gate. Well composed. V

Perhaps the builders are like ours! Started our Devon house in March and the roof is still not on, completion put back until Nov / Dec....
