We drove quite a ways into Wadi Hanifa, which is 120 kilometers long and runs through the city of Riyadh. There were some large properties with houses in the beginning, but the further we went, the sparser civilization got, although there seemed to be a lot construction going on in the middle of nowhere.

This was one of many monumental gates to an enormous property, perhaps commercial rather than private, although we did see what appeared to be a house on the corner of the premises.

After this gate, we entered an area where there were signs indicating photography was not allowed. The residence of the new crown prince, Mohamed Bin Naif, is located here, and the security along the perimeter was phenomenal. Needless to say, I didn’t take any more pictures for a while.
