Ben Youssef Medersa, student rooms

The Ben Youssef Medersa (Koranic school) was built in the mid-14th century and was one of the largest and finest in the Mahgreb. It now serves as a tourist attraction. I had wanted to visit it because of my tour guide (Eyewitness Travel “Morocco”), which features a gorgeous door on the cover said to have been photographed there, but it simply doesn’t exist at the medersa. I even wrote to the publisher about it, who contacted the photographer at Getty Images, but I don’t know what the outcome was.

The magnificent door of this medersa can be seen in the previous image, which I posted while in Marrakech.

Olives galore in the souk, posted earlier:

This is a great shot. I like seeing the students in the window. The details and textures are superb.

The design of the decor is incredible. The two girls looking out the window adds a nice element into this elaborate and well photographed image. Voted

I wonder where simplicity comes into the teaching?
