On the road, Fes to Erfoud

Sadly leaving Fes and its medina behind, we spent a large part of the day traveling to Erfoud, an oasis town in the Sahara Desert, passing through an amazing variety of landscapes on the way.

The town of Ifrane, in the Middle Atlas Mountains, is known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and with good reason. The houses all looked like they belonged in an Alpine setting, it was incredibly green, and it snows there. We caught the tail end of a heavy snowfall from a few weeks earlier just outside the town.

A lovely lake we stopped at, posted earlier:

A wonderful capture of this house quite different to what I have seen in your gallery. More like western style then the Middle East, Helen. V
