We drove all day today from Fes to Erboud, near the Sahara Desert. On the way we crossed the Middle Atlas Mountains, where it had recently snowed. I guess I never imagined this kind of scene here, but there was a good amount of snow still on the ground in the vicinity of Ifrane, known as “Switzerland in Morocco," and people were sledding down the hills as shown in this severely cropped image. Our driver had been in Irfrane two weeks ago and showed us a picture he had taken in which the town looked like a winter wonderland.
