Bassin de l’Aguedal

The Bassin de l’Aguedal is a water tank (sabrij) that was built within the Kasbah by Moulay Ismail to supply water to the Imperial City, including its palace, mosques, baths, gardens and orchards. It has a surface area of 40,000 square meters (430,000 square feet). This was taken from our SUV as we crossed a bridge.

One of the many gates to the city, posted earlier:

Aligning the scroll-work with the water works really nicely. I also like the way the cumulus clouds appear to be bubbling up from behind the wall! V
