Beit al-Quran is a fine example of modern Bahraini architecture that houses a large collection of Qurans (Korans), manuscripts and woodcarvings, serving as an introduction to Islam in general and Islamic calligraphy in particular. It was closing in an hour when we arrived, so we had to rush though, plus no photographs were allowed of the collection. Too bad because the smallest Quran they had was from 18th century Persia and measured 4.7 cm by 3.2 cm, and it was simply amazing.
This was the only picture they let me take, of the entrance to the mosque in the building.
