Bahrain World Trade Center

This was one of the first things that caught my eye in Manama when we were driving from the airport to our hotel -- wind turbines, which were actually working, connecting the two towers of the building. I couldn’t wait to go back to try to photograph it.

The Bahrain World Trade Center is 240 meters (787 feet) high with 50 floors in twin towers. It was the first skyscraper in the world to integrate wind turbines into its design.

Some fascinating videos showing how this revolutionary green building came to be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb36OgCWi1I and documenting the actual construction (long, but worth watching, especially when they start installing the bridges and turbines) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIBftOxMbF0
