Al Elb Dam

We drove all around old Diriyah, but the weather was ugly and it just wasn’t a great day for pictures, although I took some anyway, to justify the trip.

This is Al Elb Dam, which seems to be a very popular place for picnics despite the fact that there’s no water in the dam. Maybe there is in a heavy rain, but it’s sort of hard to imagine it would be so much as to warrant constructing a dam. The lakebed on either side of it was totally dry, and in fact people were picnicking in it and along the banks. I’m posting a series of pictures of it all at once, and will save a fascinating one (I thought, at least) until later.

Interesting to see the dam. Different from the ones I am used to seeing in Wales. V.
