The icebergs in this glacier lagoon, known as Jökulsárlón, crash into the water from the Breiđamerkurjökull glacier (behind the lagoon), an offshoot of the Vatnajökull ice cap (pictured below), and can stay there for up to five years on their journey to the Atlantic Ocean.

This was taken in the rain, with Tim holding an umbrella and me constantly wiping the camera and lens off. Iceland is a starkly beautiful country, but I must say photographing it requires more effort and dedication than usual!
