The elegant main hall

This was the scene that greeted us after the foreman invited us in. The women we had seen earlier who had been asked by the workmen to leave said it would be beautiful when finished, and they were certainly right.

This was taken when we were just trying to catch a glimpse of the interior from outside the gate:
