Our household effects arrived today from Budapest, three months almost to the day we packed out. There were six lift vans of belongings, which is a huge amount for a house of this size. When we left Washington, we packed for a very large representational house that had to be well furnished with artwork, but the house in Riyadh is just a "normal" dwelling with little room for anything but the necessities. I can’t even imagine what we’ll do with all this stuff except put it in two bedrooms that we have designated for storage. Still, it’s nice to have our things here finally so we can stop living out of suitcases and start to lead a more “normal” life here.
