'Forest' on the freeway

There is a large stretch of these things between the DQ and the military base. I haven't been able to figure out what they are, but they remind me of cacti.

How interesting. Let us know if you ever find out what they are for. Love that you included
the pedestrian as it gives such a great visual of the size of these strange things. ~

Interesting find. Some are red and some are green...

Looks like something that you would see in Phoenix or Tucson. It is amazing that this is in Saudi. Maybe some one has been to Arizona???? Great capture, Helen. V.

Quite bizarre !! Such a sterile landscape - and interesting road sign !!

I like this version Helen. The man adds scale to the size of these things.
They do look like cactus and if they are indeed an artwork then someone has a sense of humour :-)

It looks like they're supposed to represent sagauro cactus. I wonder if they're also functional in some way. I like the juxtaposition of the pedestrian and the car ad. V
