This is a famous stretch of desert known for its red sand.
It was a bit difficult to get focus speeding by on a minibus (with darkened windows, at that, to protect women from prying glances), but these enclosures stretched for miles and were fascinating. I was told they were like campgrounds, I suppose some kind of return to the Saudis’ Bedouin roots. This was taken on the way back to Riyadh from the King Khalid Wildlife Research Center in the previous sub-gallery.
