Gaudí created the attic using a self-supporting system whose vaults are supported by a series of catenary arches, allowing him to create flowing, diaphanous spaces without the use of columns or support partitions.

I waited a long time to get this picture because there were almost always huge numbers of people in the several arched hallways. I finally saw a break in the flow in this one and took my shot!
