Note: the owlets are now from 5 - 6 weeks old. The older one, I'll call "Big Sister", is probably about 3 - 4 days older than her "Little Brother".

Big Sister stretches her one leg to the limit whilst using her wings to balance. Almost there, but not quite.

"Well maybe if I try it this way", she thinks, as she spreads her right talons, which by now are already huge. All this whilst Little brother continues to study the situation.

............study the situation from an other angle, much like Squirrels do when trying to foil my latest anti-squirrel invention at my bird feeders.
And so it went for the several hours I watched. Time and again, it seemed she was ready to go, but lost her nerve. Maybe tomorrow??
