The backwaters of Kerala, extending about 75 km south from Kochi, is a mosaic of rivers, canals and lakes sandwiched between the sea and the mountains. A wide variety of watercraft contribute to the daily life of the residents in this lush, picturesque environment.
Since I was a child, I have been drawn to the water and boats. We spent two nights on a houseboat cruising the backwaters; I could not stop pressing the shutter button.
