Kerala state is sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountains on the southwestern edge of India. It's coastal regions south of Kochi are laced with canals and rivers.
Claiming a 100% literacy rate, Kerala appeared more prosperous and better maintained than other regions we visited.
