I volunteer two Sundays a month to care for the raptors at Richardson Nature Center.

This hawk is over 20 years old. He's an imprinted bird which means he was taken by humans at a young age, and doesn't know how to relate to his own species. It's a permanent psychological injury. Here I'm taking him to be weighed and to look him over. I think he came in at 1031g which is about 2 1/4 pounds.
