Day 184 - Keeping Cool
(915/365)
This shot is not the best, but it really captures the size of the Pontoon boat as well as the cove that we'd settled into all morning. My wife & I had done an early morning cruise (our anniversary) and found this cove not far from the campground (basically across the lake). We came back with the kids and dropped anchor. We were the first boat here, after an hour a couple more came in (including a cabin cruiser that must have been in the $200k range), by noon there were about 8 boats in this cove and across the sandbar in the background. It's hard to tell, but the lake on the other side of the sandbar was very rough, the boats were rocking all over the place (and it wasn't from lovin'), the sandbar acted as a wave break, we hardly felt any ripples.
We'd jump into the water and swim to the beach, walk around, swim on the other side, and pop back to the boat. I think we spent 5 or 6 hours in this cove this day.

Day 183 - Deck Crew
(914/365)
We rented a 24' Pontoon Boat (with a Mecury 60 HP Motor) for two days on the lake. Here we are getting ready to cast off from the northern most marina on on the lake in Harrison, Maine. I immediately put the girls to work as my Deck Hands once we rented the boat back in Naples. I taught them how to help dock the boat, tie us in, then take us out. They are eagerly awaiting me to get on board so we can cast off.

Day 182 - Kayak Girls
(913/365)
This is the beginning of the only trip taken in the kayaks for this vacation. The girls were only out for an hour. I spent a lot more time than that getting them loaded for the trip, then shuttling them to the beach, back, and then unloading them at home. We camped on Long Lake, an 11 mile long lake (thus the name), it would have been a multi-day affair to kayak the whole lake. Long Lake is connected to Brandy Pond which is connected to Sebago Lake via the Songo Locks. All told, there are 45 miles of lake. Lots of boats.

Day 181 - Small Campfire
(912/365)
The day went so fast, I never took a photo. I started a very small camp fire from twigs and various small branches our first evening at the lake. I grabbed the iPhone when I realized I'd forgotten to take a photo. Saved by the iPhone again.

Day 180 - 6TBs
(911/365)
Got my new 4TB MyBook today. I've set it up to run RAID 1 so it is 2 x 2TB, mirrored. The other smaller MyBooks to the right/background are just lowly 1TB models. One of the 1TB MyBooks has gone semi-bad. They are going crazy right now as I transfer 750GB of data across the FW800 port in order to free up the bad one. I think I can repair the bad one by replacing the drive itself. It would be even cooler to find out I can drop in a 2TB.

Day 179 - Meadow Strom
(910/365)
I'm leaving work, its overcast as all hell, I lock up my sunglasses in my top case. No sooner than I put my key in the ignition, the sun comes out, so I retrieve my sunglasses back out of the top case. I get about 100 feet out of the parking lot and realize that I simply have to do something with this beautiful lighting and backdrop. There is an old parking lot slightly down the road. I pulled in figuring I would have some kind of shot of the bike on an old tar surface. Instead I do a little off-roading to get this shot. I had all kinds of angles, enough for me to realize the irony of having cleaned and serviced the chain yesterday while looking at all the friggin weeds I just pulled through my sprockets (in the photos from the rear that didn't make the cut).

Day 178 - Playing a Game
(909/365)
My son playing a game with my wife this evening. Actually the entire family was gathered around our old couch for some odd reason.

Day 177 -Used and Neglected
(908/365)
I had a 7 State Ride today, left at 7:24AM and got back at 8PM. It was 530 miles of pure fun, though my upper back, between my shoulder-blades, is sore (problem with my bars and my lack of reach). I saw this house somewhere in Rhode Island, it was in the process (I think) of getting torn down (I hope). It looked to be filled with tons of crap (hoarders?) and it was literally falling down. The roof had all these holes in it not from a fire either.
The house isn't that old, probably 70's. My bike isn't that old either (2002) but it is definately NOT neglected.

Day 176 - Stop and jump
(907/365)
Not sure why I haven't done any jumping photos in June, since June is for Jumping. Yes, I have pulled over into a cemetary to take my jumping photo. I came up with this idea as it was an easy way to hold the camera, just use a headstone. The stone I used was not occupied, it was one of those stones that have the birth years on them but nothing else, so I didn't wake anyone that I am aware of. Odd but this was the first photo of the batch.

Day 175 - Turtle is hanging out
(906/365)
My morning ride in, just before work, I spy another turtle walking down the street. I doubled back to help it along, taking some liberties along the way. Right here, the turtle is checking out my duck and sizing me up. I can happily say that no turtle pee was spilled on either the duck, my top case, or myself during this event. Last year, I had to save a large snapper that was crossing the street, pretty much in this same area.

Day 174 - Fog Rolling in
(905/365)
I actually went South in Maine on my way home today, something that is hard to do as there isn't all that much 'South' of us in Maine. There are still some beautiful scenic coastal views in Kittery. This is at the Kittery Point Pier. The fog started rolling in as I hit the coastal road (Can't say roads here) so I kept searching for a good place to stop for photos. Not sure I've ever been to this pier before.

Day 173 - Distortion
(904/365)
Golf night tonight and I'm upgrading the iPhone to OS 4 (Somehow I missed that last night). This is nothing more than my evening glass of water, slightly out of focus. I tried to pour the water with one hand and press the shutter release with the other. This is easier said than done.
