Occasional winter visitor, August through March, peak in October, in Coastal region.
eBird records since 2010: 2010: 2, 2011: 1, 2012: 1, 2015: 1.
Habitat: Sandy beaches, rocky shores.
Best locations: Point La Jolla, Point Loma Tide Pools.
Note: Usually found with Black Oystercatchers. Hybrids with Black Oystercatcher may be more likely than pure birds.
