A young Brown-headed Cowbird enjoys first day out of the Red-eyed Vireo nest. Cowbird parents don't build nests of their own but lay eggs in other birds nests like that of the Red-eyed Vireo, so the other birds end up being duped into incubating and feeding them. One female Cowbird can lay as many as 40 eggs in the nest of various birds including Yellow Warblers.
