Sad News : Nov 9, 2017: John Hillerman died in Houston, Texas

April 2018: Robin's Nest demolished !
We all are sad, some are angry. But before jumping to conclusions, please read the as always excellent explanations from Rick Romer, why this has happened. I was not aware of the intense corrosiveness of the salt air! I guess, a next trip to this beach is now due, to see how it looks these days and in the future.

Visit Newsgroup alt.tv.magnum-pi for the never ending discussion about Magnum and his best, ahem... friend, Jonathan Q. Higgins, one of the most capable man ever to walk the surface of Earth. Or so he thinks, and I like him so much for just that.

Unfortunately probably the longest active and most comprehensive set of information about the series, Marco Smetz's Magnum, p.i. Pages, went off the web, allegedly due to an aggressive letter from network's attorney regarding copyright(?!). Later an empty page with the note reopening soon appeared, but nothing happened for many years now, so we can surely write it off for good. Many of the web sites dedicated to Magnum seem to be offline now, incl. Marco's incomparable site.

In recent years the Magnum-Mania, made by James J. Walters filled in. James is actively updating his web pages for many years now. Clearly his site is the primary source of best current information about Tom Selleck and everything around Magnum P.I.

In 1989 I was there as a 9 y.o. child visiting my aunt. It was a huge surprise to find out while we were there, Magnum P.I. had to do a commercial. What a beautiful car in person.

Hello, if we ever come for a visit, what time of day is the best time to avoid the high tide to get the tide pool? One last question...are they going to make a Magnum P.I. movie?

As a huge Magnum P.I. fan I really appreciate your web site and photos. I am amazed at how we always want to see where things were filmed, and then when we do we understand the "magic" of movies and TV. Never-the-less, it is so enjoyable to see where some of the magic happened.

CPineau here - I posted for a few years on the A&E site but could never log back on after they changed it some months back..... Last fall I had the great fortune of visiting Robin's Nest!!! We walked along the beach and peeked thru the fence and swam in the "tidal pool" and even sat on the large rock that was shown in a couple of scenes :)
It was truly one of the highlights of my life!

Beautiful pictures! My grandfather was a shriner in Hawaii and his beach club owns the property next door to Robin's Nest so I had the good fortune of growing up visiting here often and peeking over the fence. It's nice to see there are others who think this property is as special as I always have. Many years ago, I remember seeing a cow grazing the grounds of Robin's Nest. I stumbled upon this website by accident, looking for Oahu vacation rentals for my next vacation and wondered if this property was for rent. Thanks for the pictures!

I went to "Robin's Nest" in 1996. From the road the gates have a turtle design on them. If you drive past the house a little ways there is a prking area on the right. From there it isn't far to walk along the beach until you get to the other side of Robin's Nest where the tidal pool is. It was really cool to be there and see Rabbit Island in the distance as I had seen in many scenes from MPI. Robin's Nest is called the Anderson Estate and is owned by Eve Anderson. Anyway, great site. Big fan. Elaine in England.

Joanna, About your Island Hopper shirt I've looked every where for one and I finally found a website. It is rocknrobbie.com It's a cool magnum website and you have to email the guy and tell him you want a shirt and what color and size. I got a pink one for me and a navy blue one for my boyfriend. They are a little pricey but its an exact one!!! Looks just like the one T.C. wears in the show!!! Hope this helped!!!

Fantastic stuff! For any Magnum fan, your ventures onto the estate are surely a dream come true. I hope to take my 6 year old (who is totally into Magnum P.I. !!!) there some day, also to swim in "Mr. Masters tidal pool"!
