_MG_0110.jpg Barred Owl, hit by a vehicle, then continued the ride 'to work' in the guy's truck grill. He did not realize the owl was in his grill. Thank goodness he looked once he got out of his truck. |

Bald Eagle release.jpg Photo of Rodney Paul, from Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas, and one of his assistants. Rodney is one of the few rehabilitators who has the credentials for rehabilitating Bald Eagles. The eagle, believed to be close to 10 years old, was thought to have encountered power lines. |
20141028_4739.jpg I've helped Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas (RRCA) with 3 transports this week. This precious little Pied-eared Grebe was fine and released on a pond, it spent the day in my kitchen sink with water, minnows and a bird cage over it before further transport to RRCA. It somehow got 'displaced' to the tennis courts at UCA (University of Central Arkansas)!! People who 'report' injured birds to the rehabbers are just amazing in my book. Birds I picked up this week; one (Grebe) from students at UCA, one (hawk) at Conway Animal Shelter and one (hawk) at Ward Vet Clinic. Thanks Tina for your pick ups at my house this week! Always, thanks to Rodney at RRCA for his texts asking me to assist and for the wonderful work he does for our feathered friends. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Raptor-Rehab-Of-Central-Arkansas/184508031575523 That Grebe was precious and when I lifted him, his breast was as fat as a little frog! Remember, donations to RRCA are tax deductible. :-) |

20120930_6298.jpg Maybe a look of thanks! Injured Red-tailed Hawk, captured at CHDC (where I worked) and taken to a raptor rehabilitator. It had a fractured elbow. Once rehabilitated, I was able to release it back on the CHDC campus. I added the limb, in front of the pet carrier, in hopes that she would pop out of the carrier, onto the limb for a quick photo opt. Worked great too :-)
