I've helped Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas (RRCA) with 3 transports this week. This precious little Pied-eared Grebe was fine and released on a pond, it spent the day in my kitchen sink with water, minnows and a bird cage over it before further transport to RRCA. It somehow got 'displaced' to the tennis courts at UCA (University of Central Arkansas)!! People who 'report' injured birds to the rehabbers are just amazing in my book. Birds I picked up this week; one (Grebe) from students at UCA, one (hawk) at Conway Animal Shelter and one (hawk) at Ward Vet Clinic. Thanks Tina for your pick ups at my house this week! Always, thanks to Rodney at RRCA for his texts asking me to assist and for the wonderful work he does for our feathered friends. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Raptor-Rehab-Of-Central-Arkansas/184508031575523 That Grebe was precious and when I lifted him, his breast was as fat as a little frog! Remember, donations to RRCA are tax deductible. :-)
