Tasmanian Funnelweb

Cradle Valley, Tasmania, Australia

These rather frightening-looking spiders normally shelter in holes in wood (probably made by insect larvae) where they ambush
passers-by when their webs are disturbed. This female was found on a large log in a Nothofagus cunninghami forest.
